There are moments in life when something asks for our attention.

Perhaps we find ourselves returning to the same relationship patterns. Carrying a heaviness we can’t quite explain. Feeling caught between who we’ve been and who we’re becoming.

Sometimes we know exactly what we’re looking for.

Sometimes we simply know that something no longer fits.

Family Constellations offers a gentle yet profound way of exploring the unseen influences that shape our lives. It helps bring into awareness the relationships, loyalties and inherited patterns that often sit quietly beneath our experience.

As these hidden dynamics become visible, something can begin to soften. We no longer have to carry quite so much. More freedom, more connection and a greater sense of ease become possible.

This is not about fixing ourselves.

It is about meeting ourselves—and our families—with greater understanding and compassion.

Is this for me?

You don’t need to know anything about Family Constellations before attending.

People come for many different reasons.

Perhaps you’re navigating family conflict, grief or loss, feeling stuck in some area of your life, or facing a significant transition. You may simply have a sense that something beneath the surface is asking to be understood.

Others come with no particular problem at all—only a quiet curiosity.

You are welcome exactly as you are.

What happens in a workshop?

One of the questions I’m most often asked is, “What actually happens?”

Each workshop is unique, though all unfold within a respectful, carefully held space.

Some participants choose to explore a personal issue through their own constellation. Others take part as representatives within someone else’s process. Others will witness. All experiences can offer profound insight, often in ways that are difficult to explain until you’ve experienced them yourself.

There is never any expectation to share more than feels comfortable.

Many people describe the day as surprisingly gentle and enjoyable.

There are moments of deep emotion, but also laughter, spaciousness and a growing sense of connection within the group – something beautiful occurs when well intended people come together.

My journey

I first encountered Family Constellations more than fifteen years ago.

Something about the mahi captivated me. It offered a way of understanding human relationships that was both profoundly moving and remarkably simple.

I completed facilitator training in 2016, initially to deepen my own understanding rather than to facilitate. I returned to further training in 2023, as I decided it was time for me to share this work with others.

Alongside my art practice, I now facilitate workshops and one-on-one sessions. I also serve as Vice Chair and Treasurer of Aotearoa New Zealand Constellations Incorporated (ANZCI), alongside a dedicated team who share a deep commitment to supporting the growth of Family and Systemic Constellations through connection, community and shared learning across Aotearoa.

Although art and Family Constellations are distinct practices, both invite us to slow down, pay attention and notice what quietly wishes to emerge.

Both ask us to trust that beneath complexity there is often a deeper order waiting to reveal itself.

The work itself

Family Constellations is based on the understanding that we exist within relationship—not only with those around us, but also with those who came before us.

Within every whānau there are experiences that have shaped the generations that follow. Sometimes these influences remain largely unseen, yet continue to affect the way we relate, love and move through the world.

Constellations offers a way of bringing these dynamics gently into view.

Rather than analysing or fixing, we observe what is present and allow new possibilities to emerge.

Again and again I witness the quiet relief that can arise when what has long been carried alone is finally seen. There’s an exhale.

Why I do this work

People often ask what draws me to Family Constellations.

The answer is much the same as what draws me to making art.

Both invite us into relationship—with ourselves, with one another, and with something larger than our individual stories.

Both remind me that beauty isn’t something we create through striving.

It emerges naturally when what has been separated begins to find its place again.

It is a privilege to witness those moments.

If you’re curious to experience Family Constellations for yourself, I’d love for you to join us.

Testimonials

Thank you a million times over, Fi. This work is incredible but you holding space for this work to unfold is truly magical. It is such a beautiful, safe, warm, nurturing & grounded circle you create. What a blessing.

Thank you for the powerful session. My heart is open & overflowing. A miraculous change happened with my son. He came home last night & gave me the biggest hug, today 3 hugs later he told me & my daughter that he loves us. Your work is nothing short of a miracle. I feel so blessed that a sensitive & compassionate person such as you is doing work that will change families & spread love.

– P.A.

You were your very gracious self Fi, as always, so generous of your self and your home. Such open, warm workshop mates – it amazes me how vulnerable we allow ourselves to become which is a credit to you.

Before attending Fiona’s Familly Constellation I was a little sceptical of it’s effectiveness.

Fiona’s house was the perfect setting as it appeared to put strangers at ease with each other through the good energy of the building and her leadership.

I found Fiona’s empathy and compassion really genuine. She has this ability to get to the root of someone’s problems or concerns without having to force the issue.

To explain what happens in the room would take someone with a PHD in quantum physics, I don’t have that but I do know that I left feeling invigorated and that something special had just happened.

I have since attended other family constellations and my life and outlook on life has improved immeasurably.

Thank you Fiona for introducing family constellations to me and for being a perfect host.

I could not recommend Fiona any more highly, just give it a go!

What an amazingly powerful day it was with you and the perfect constellation group. I am still calm and buzzing at the same time. Thank you for your patience, intuition, gentleness, immense knowledge and the space you provide for the healing and transformation to occur.

– A.P.

I can’t thank you enough for giving me the space & time for today’s experience. It was magical & so worthwhile. You & the beautiful people made it such an incredibly nice atmosphere.
